NAME Professor teaches course on machine learning techniques at international marine conference

On August 15th and 16th Dr. Rajeev Jaiman offered a successful short course, “Physics-Based Data-Driven Modeling and Machine Learning: Application to Marine/Offshore Engineering” at OMAE, the international conference on ocean, offshore and arctic engineering.  Dr. Jaiman’s two-day course focused on advanced data-driven and physics-based machine learning techniques and applications to fundamental unsteady flow and fluid-structure interaction problems, and was attended by over thirty marine and offshore engineers from around the world.

OMAE is presented by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), a leading organization in the global engineering community which enables scientific exchange and collaboration, and organizes a variety of conferences on engineering topics. While initially to be in Florida this year, the 2020 OMAE was held virtually instead.
